Food Basics Flyer – Food Basics is a discount Canadian supermarket chain owned by Metro Inc. The company operates more than 115 stores across Ontario. Basics of food has created A & P Canada to compete with the successful No Frills warehouse-style supermarket managed by Loblaw Companies. He became part of the METRO Group, when A & P Canada is sold in Metro in 2005. Basis of lowering their prices in a number of ways: easy maintenance (no free plastic bags, only free cardboard boxes), store decor is kept to a minimum and less staff employed, mostly in part-time positions. The chain operates the pressure of large scale on a limited selection of products from the Metro shops allowing him to compete price-wise with other stores. There are 117 locations in Ontario. 36 are franchise shops to Metro Inc. bought all the stores back to the end of 2008.
